Gaming

How to choose the best rig for your ideal type of gaming.

Gaming has become one of the biggest global phenomena on earth. Not only has gaming become accessible to anyone around the planet, but it can also probably be found in every household out there. Gaming now plays a part in all our lives, whether it’s just an app on our phone or an expensive video game on a computer or console. People love the feeling of gaming because it helps us veer into the limitless digital world and takes a break from our basic everyday lives.

There are many different types of gaming, in fact, there’s a way to game that can cater to anybody. So we’re going to give you a list of the best gaming rigs for different types of specific gamers.

The console gamer

If you’re into playing games with a controller, then you’re into console gaming, but there’s a lot of options when it comes to which console to use. We all know there are two main brands, Microsoft’s Xbox and Sony’s Playstation – which are always competing against each other in a race to produce the most high-tech gaming console with the most optimal gaming experience – along with a few smaller brands like Nintendo’s Switch and more. In this case, the choice of which console to buy depends mainly on what kind of games you want to play. Each console has its own exclusive games, however, most console games are universal.

Here’s some Playstation and Xbox exclusive game series that might help you solidify your decision on which console suits you best;

  • Gran Turismo – One of the best ever track racing simulation series – Available exclusively on Playstation.
  • Forza Horizon – An incredible racing Sim, based on open-world driving – Is available exclusively on Xbox.
  • Ratchet & Clank – A classic adventure combat series with an iconic duo – Available exclusively on Playstation.
  • Halo – A classic futuristic First Person Shooter series – Available exclusively on Xbox.

More Playstation exclusives include titles like Infamous, The Last of Us, Yakuza, Street Fighter, and more, while Xbox boasts titles like Quantum Break, Gears, Psychonauts, and Sunset Overdrive in its exclusivity.

The PC Gamer

If you’re into gaming on mouse and keyboard, PC gaming is for you. While consoles are more known to give us sports and action-related games, PCs have a more vast approach, with MMORPGs as well as many other kinds of games that cannot be played with a controller, such as League of Legends or World of Warcraft. So how would one know what kind of PC to buy? Should I buy it custom-built? Should I build it myself? Or should I buy one off-the-shelf? There’s a lot to consider when buying your ideal PC, starting off with what kind of operating system you want on your PC. Apple OS and iMacs aren’t very sought out in the gaming world, so if you want a good gaming PC, best stay in the Windows lane.

PC’s come with endless options when it comes to specifications, you need to choose your RAM size, CPU, Graphics card, motherboard, and more. If you plan on spending your gaming time betting, any computer would be able to run the best online casino, but if you want to game properly, you’re going to need some beefy specs. The advantage of gaming PCs is they aren’t just good for gaming, you can also use them for anything else a computer could do. The spec of your PC depends on what you plan on playing on your PC, and of course, the longevity you expect your PC to keep running new games for, cause they’re always growing and increasing in data, meaning your PC will start looking weaker and weaker compared to all new games that come out in the coming years. However, keep in mind that a computer can be upgraded in almost any aspect, and is a lot more versatile than a game console! PC gaming also has its fair share of exclusive video games, and here’s to name a few

Fallout, Baldur’s Gate, Deus Ex, Monkey Island, Half-life, Company of Heroes, Dawn of War, SimCity, Doom, Duke Nukem 3D, Thief, Starcraft, Vampire the Masquerade… Need we go on? Thanks to its endemic backward compatibility, the PC has its entire history of great games waiting on you like an aged but unrelentingly loyal butler, which gives it the edge over its console counterparts, which lose compatibility with old games after a certain amount of time.
